Mountain Family will continue to offer health insurance enrollment assistance through Friday, January 12, 2018. That’s the deadline for Colorado residents to enroll for health coverage for 2018. Residents signing up in time for the January 12 deadline will have health coverage starting February 1, 2018.

“As of December 15, we’ve assisted 385 individuals sign up for health insurance, through walk-in events and appointments at the different locations we host,” says Silvia Santana. As Mountain Family’s Outreach and Enrollment Manager, Santana oversees Mountain Family’s enrollment assistance. “We hope to help many more individuals and families before January 12.”

Mountain Family hosts free enrollment appointments for residents to meet with a certified Assister (also called Health Coverage Guide). To make an appointment, please call 970-928-1614 or email EnrollmentHelp@mountainfamily.org. All Assisters speak English and Spanish, and the enrollment period lasts until Friday, January 12, 2018. Please see below for a list of documents that residents must bring when enrolling for coverage.

There will be an enrollment event on Saturday, January 6, for walk-in enrollments to assist individuals/families needing to enroll by the January 12 deadline. The event lasts from 11am – 3pm at the Glenwood Springs Library, which is located at 815 Cooper Avenue in Glenwood Springs.

Mountain Family is partnering with Garfield, Eagle, and Pitkin counties to offer assistance at county offices:

Mondays, November 6 – January 8 at Eagle County Health and Human Services, 551 Broadway St, Eagle, CO 81631

Tuesdays, November 7 – January 9 at Pitkin County Department of Human Services, 0405 Castle Creek Road, Aspen, CO 81611

Fridays, November 3 – January 12 at Garfield County Department of Human Services, 108 8th Street, Suite 300, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601

Please note that residents must bring the following documents and information to enrollment appointments or walk-in events (see event list below):

1) Social Security numbers for everyone in the household
2) Dates of birth for everyone in the household
3) Proof of legal status, residence card, work or student visa, citizenship certificate or certificate number
4) Income documents (Tax return, W-2, check stub, unemployment letter, Social Security award letter or bank statement.)
5) Username and password for existing Connect for Health Colorado accounts
