Harriet “Addie” Smith, MD

Dr. Smith has been practicing pediatrics since 2019 and enjoys caring for children at every stage of life. She has a special interest in newborns, young children in their first few years, and medically complex patients. She is also passionate about expanding access to pediatric care in rural communities and learning more about the unique aspects of caring for children at altitude.

Dr. Smith grew up between the East Coast and Europe and first discovered her love for the Colorado mountains during a high school Outward Bound mountaineering course in the Gore Range. After graduating cum laude from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, she moved to Colorado in 2007 and quickly made the mountains home.

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Smith spent eight years working as a professional ski patroller at Keystone Resort, where she cared for injured skiers and riders on the mountain and developed a deep respect for hands-on, practical medicine in challenging environments. That experience helped inspire her path into pediatrics. She later earned her MD from St. George’s University in Grenada and completed her pediatric residency at Albany Medical Cente Dr. Smith has been practicing pediatrics since 2019 and enjoys caring for children at every stage of life. She has a special interest in newborns, young children in their first few years, and medically complex patients. She is also passionate about expanding access to pediatric care in rural communities and learning more about the unique aspects of caring for children at altitude. Dr. Smith speaks Spanish and continues to strengthen her language skills to better serve the community.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Smith enjoys skiing, hiking, and biking in the mountains, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her dog, Penny. She is excited to care for children and families in the Avon and Gypsum communities.
