3-30-2019 Grand Junction dinner 1 - Percy

By Mountain Family Health Centers

Mountain Family Health Centers would like to congratulate Nataly Meraz, RN, Basalt Clinic Nurse Facilitator, and Karen Torres, RN, Rifle Clinic Nurse Facilitator, for being nominated for the 2019 Colorado Nightingale Luminary Awards. Nataly, Karen, and other Mountain Family representatives attended a regional recognition dinner in Grand Junction earlier this year. Dr. Matt Percy wrote a short appreciation for Karen and Nataly’s hard work.

“I wanted to take a minute to celebrate Nataly Meraz and Karen Torres, who were both honored as Nightingale Award nominees at a banquet in Grand Junction the evening of Saturday, March 30th. Nataly and Karen were two of just 25 nurses from across the entire Western Slope [who were] nominated for this prestigious award. Basalt Site Medical Director Dr. Anneliese Heckert, DO, and I were honored to present Nataly and Karen’s accomplishments to the attendees.

Nataly was nominated for innovation in helping to implement team-based care in Basalt and Karen was nominated for her leadership in developing nurse co-visits in Rifle. As I said at the banquet, I don’t think a few sentences can adequately convey the thousands of things these two wonderful nurses do to help our patients on a daily basis.

We are all grateful for the hard work they put into making our clinics run more smoothly and our patients and communities healthier. Please join me in celebrating this momentous achievement and please also congratulate them in person the next time you see them!” – Dr. Matt Percy, MD, Rifle Site Medical Director and Director of Clinical Staff
