Rachel Matheson, SWC, earned her BA in Psychology and MA in Social Work through higher education at Colorado Mountain College, Fort Lewis College, and Colorado State University. Rachel grew up in Glenwood Springs and moved back to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2023. Rachel works with community members at the Basalt clinic, Basalt Middle School, and virtually. Rachel is bilingual and able to communicate with individuals in English and in Spanish. Rachel focuses on collaboration with her patients and uses a combination of techniques including a strengths-based approach, solution focused care, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma informed care, and dialectical behavioral therapy. She works with community members who may be experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, substance use, sense of identity, grief, or overall wellbeing. Rachel believes that every individual has unique experiences, perspectives, and goals and she will take time to cater therapy services for the individual. In her free time, she enjoys rafting, rock climbing, yoga, hiking with her dogs, and spending quality time with loved ones.
