March 2023: Dana Peterson, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, Director of Human Resources
It is with great pleasure that I nominate Dana Peterson for the Mariposa award. It’s hard to believe that she has only been with Mountain Family Health Centers for just over one year, because she not only has made personal and professional connections with nearly all staff, engaged and embodied MFHC’s Mission and Guiding Principles, but has also accomplished so many other things in that short time.
The energy and grace she brings to the Human Resources team has been a joy to observe. Dana has a personal commitment to ensure that each employee has the opportunity to succeed and grow at MFHC, starting with herself. Dana often starts a conversation with “I read this article . . .” or “I was listening to this podcast . . .” reflecting on the many professional and leadership development opportunities she seeks out in order to constantly learn new ways to improve our teams and connect with all staff.
I could go on to continue and list projects and tasks that Dana accomplished in the past year, but suffice it to say, she goes above and beyond expectations on a regular basis. Dana is a well-deserving recipient of the Mariposa Award.
–Annette Franta, Chief Financial Officer
April 2023: Cathy Lettice, RDH, School-Based Health Center Dental Hygienist
I would like to nominate Cathy Lattice for the Mariposa award.
I am lucky to have Cathy as part of our Dental team she is always available to train and share her knowledge with her fellow hygienists. Cathy adapts to change and works with difficult situations to ensure her patients get the care they need. Even on her most busy days and no appointment available if a child has an emergency, she will get them in, sometime this means she gets no lunch time, but she keeps going and does what she can to help her patients.
She is kind to others and it’s a pleasure to work with her. It’s great to see the care she gives her patients every day.
–Luz Sanchez, Dental Program Manager
May 2023: Genesis Renova, School-Based Health Center Patient Services Representative
I would like to nominate Genesis R for this month’s Mariposa Award!
I recall giving Genesis a plant with a unicorn vase on her first day with Mountain Family and told her she represented this unicorn because she was a special find. We are so fortunate to have Genesis on the School-Based Health Centers team. Genesis represents the qualities deserving for this recognition- she is organized, detailed oriented, greets every patient at the door with a warm smile, and has adopted our mission at the organization. She is committed to School-Based Health Center success and continues to learn and grow in her role.
–Nataly Meraz, RN, School-Based Health Center Nurse
