Mountain Family Health Centers is thankful for a $2 million bridge loan from social impact lender Vital Healthcare Capital, or V-Cap. V-Cap offers low-interest, flexible loans to strengthen primary care services in rural and urban communities across Colorado, with support from the Colorado Health Foundation. Funding under this program can be used for construction, renovation, facility acquisition or expansion.

“V-Cap’s low-interest financing enabled Mountain Family to complete construction on the new Basalt Integrated Health Center in under 6 months, providing much needed affordable medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare to our community,” says Mountain Family CEO Ross Brooks. “We’re grateful to V-Cap for helping expedite access to affordable health care in our community.”

V-Cap’s loan was facilitated through the Strengthening Primary Care Program with The Colorado Health Foundation. It demonstrates both organizations’ confidence in Mountain Family as a capable and compelling fundraiser.

“Mountain Family’s integrated, whole-person approach to care is a central reason why V-Cap wanted to help them expand to Basalt. This loan delivers on our mission to respond to the unmet capital needs of community-based healthcare organizations,” says Steve Weingarten, Chief Executive Officer of V-Cap. The structure of the loan allowed Mountain Family to renovate the new Basalt clinic space on schedule and pay down the loan as capital campaign proceeds are received.

Mountain Family is asking supporters to consider joining V-Cap, The Colorado Health Foundation, and a long list of other vital partner organizations in supporting the new Basalt Integrated Health Center, an essential resource for workers and residents in the Roaring Fork Valley. Mountain Family is committed to our mission of providing high quality, integrated primary medical, behavioral, and dental health care in the communities we serve, with special consideration for the medically underserved, regardless of ability to pay. The new Basalt Integrated Health Center is a significant step as we continue to carry out this mission.
