Marija joined Mountain Family in 2019 after 5.5 years with the Colorado Community Health Network (CCHN), where she led the organization’s work on value-based payment and new FQHC payment models. As a Colorado native, Marija’s childhood dream to become a dolphin trainer was never able to fully develop, so she settled for a career in her second passion – social justice. Prior to CCHN, Marija worked at the National Network for Oral Health Access and United Way of Larimer County, doing community organizing, advocacy, and policy work on issues of equity and equality from oral health to childcare access. Marija earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2003 and her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver in 2008. When she’s not at work, Marija can be found knitting, biking and baking.
